How weddings have changed within the decades! From your handful to 400-500 invited guests; one-two to six-eight wedding party members; a straightforward wedding car to expensive and enormous wedding cars; three course meals to course meals; 1 to 3 live bands; simple attire to colorful and flamboyant dresses, suits and attire and off-the-cuff to well-prepared wedding speeches.

Talking about aforementioned, wedding speeches are still a fundamental part of being married and guests do look forward to hearing them, speaking about them before, during as wll as after they’ve been delivered.

We know of wedding speeches delivered before the meal, during the meal and after the meal, yet it is of a strong opinion how the father of the groom speech needs to be delivered following the meal. I know that for several wedding party speakers i.e. Father from the Bride Speech, Father of the Groom Speech, Bride Speech, Groom Speech and Bestman Speech (5 main speakers), they might choose to hold the wedding speeches ahead of the meal, to enable them to enjoy their meal (a number of them are spending money for it!). However, all is here the invited guests and the way most of them (as well as wedding ceremony venue staff) would prefer wedding ceremony speeches being delivered following the meal for several reasons, most of which include:

The invited guests have been fed and watered and aren’t hearing wedding speeches before eating anything (at least of food, which will be before the meal, though weddings today do provide light snacks upon arrival in the wedding venue)
Food can be cooked and served on the agreed time (introduce the wedding speeches prior to meal in addition to their could be a delay of 15 minutes to at least one.5 hours, driving living rooms staff crazy continuing to keep food freshly cooked, presentable and edible)
The wedding speeches become the transition in the meal towards the dancing (without a penny happening after the meal, folks are expecting ‘a few words’ being shared concerning the Bride & Groom then they do know they could stand up, move about, take a rest, take a stroll, see a bar…)
It can be hard for moms and dads of the Bride & Groom to communicate in in public areas, as the majority of them wouldn’t be used than it. So, they might, when they so wished, speak before the / their meal.

There should still be some form of formal wedding speech(es) following the meal…
