‘Here to help with all of your health along with safety needs’

I am delighted to have joined they at Acorn Safety Solutions at such an interesting time. Acorn has daring ambitions for the future, specially around its legionella germs services, and I can’t wait around to be part of it.

I’ve spent many years working in the water industry, in domestic plumbing and remedials and more recently gaining valuable knowledge carrying out legionella risk tests.

I’ve already been on the road conference our clients face-to-face, along with I’m really looking forward to developing these important interactions.
‘What is legionella bacteria along with am I at risk?’

Legionella bacteria is microscopic and is found in streams, estuaries and rivers, reservoirs and fish ponds, usually in suprisingly low numbers, where these people don’t cause any troubles. The difficulty comes when these tiny germs get trapped inside your water system along with multiply, potentially ultimately causing Legionnaires’ Disease.

According to the Govt, there were 503 cases of Legionnaires’ Condition in the UK in 2019. It’s a life threatening illness which can be deadly – symptoms to be familiar with include fever, headaches, cough and lack of breath.

While legionella bacteria may cause problems anywhere because of the right conditions, several areas such as places where water is stored or recirculated, where the water temperature is involving 20-45°C or where corrosion, sludge, scale as well as organic matters exist, are considered to be at much higher risk.

Those people who are more susceptible to infection, including the elderly and people with weakened immunity processes, need to be especially careful.
‘So, what can I do to protect myself and those about me?’

Employers, the self-employed, facilities managers, health and safety officers and land lords, are all among those who’ve a duty to protect men and women against the risks connected with legionella bacteria.

The rules about legionella bacteria are really sophisticated and testing has to be carried out by an expert * this is where Acorn Safety Solutions can really help.

A full Legionella Danger Assessment carried out by one of our qualified assessors is the very first important step in identifying and assessing your own personal risk.

The survey can look for any non-Water Regulations Authorization Scheme approved fittings, assess your frosty water tank and conditions in your hot water canister and accessibility to other areas that require monitoring along with maintenance by law.

At the end of the assessment, you will receive a full report that may include any assistance with remedial work and repairs and actions you should take subsequent.

To make things easier still for you to manage, we offer a free online website where our customers can store their particular risk assessment paperwork safely and securely online ensuring they are fully obtainable whenever you need them.

And because Acorn Safety Providers is a fully-independent health and safety becoming a consultant, you can be sure that advice we offer is with your very best interests at heart.

We look forward to working with an individual soon.
