How weddings have changed on the decades! From your handful to 400-500 invited guests; one-two to six-eight bridal party members; an easy wedding car to expensive and enormous wedding cars; three course meals to course meals; 1-3 live bands; simple attire to colorful and flamboyant dresses, suits and attire and off-the-cuff to well-prepared wedding speeches.

These are the latter, wedding speeches remain a fundamental part of a wedding and guests do enjoy hearing them, discussing them before, during as well as after they’ve been delivered.

We are all aware of wedding speeches delivered ahead of the meal, in the meal after your food, however it’s of the strong opinion that this wedding speeches must be delivered following your meal. I know that for most marriage ceremony speakers i.e. Father from the Bride Speech, Father of the father of the bride speech (the five main speakers), they will prefer to contain the wedding speeches prior to the meal, to allow them to enjoy their meal (many of them are paying for it!). However, all is here the invited guests and how most of them (and indeed the wedding ceremony venue staff) would rather the wedding ceremony speeches to get delivered after the meal for a lot of reasons, a few of which include:

The invited guests have been fed and watered and aren’t listening to wedding speeches before eating any breakfast (at least of food, which could be the case prior to the meal, though weddings today do provide light snacks upon arrival in the wedding venue)
Food can be cooked and served in the agreed time (introduce wedding ceremony speeches before the meal in addition to their can be quite a delay of Fifteen minutes to a single.5 hours, driving living rooms staff crazy trying to keep food freshly cooked, presentable and edible)
The marriage speeches behave as the transition through the meal towards the dancing (broke happening following the meal, people are expecting ‘a few words’ to become shared regarding the Bride & Groom then they understand they’re able to get out of bed, move around, take a rest, go for a walk, visit the bar…)
It’s a challenge for moms and dads from the Bride & Groom to speak in public areas, as most of them may not be used of it. So, they could, if they so wished, speak prior to / their meal.

There should nevertheless be some type of formal speech(es) following your meal…
