How weddings have changed on the decades! From the handful to 400-500 invited guests; one-two to six-eight wedding party members; an easy wedding car to expensive and huge wedding cars; three course meals to course meals; 1 to 3 live bands; simple attire to colorful and flamboyant dresses, suits and attire and off-the-cuff to well-prepared wedding speeches.
Speaking of the second, wedding speeches remain a fundamental part of a married relationship and guests do enjoy hearing them, speaking about them before, during as well as after they’ve been delivered.
We have all heard of wedding speeches delivered before the meal, through the meal and after your food, yet it’s of the strong opinion that the wedding speeches ought to be delivered after the meal. I realize that for several wedding party speakers i.e. Father from the Bride Speech, Father from the Groom Speech, Bride Speech, Groom Speech and Bestman Speech (5 main speakers), they will would rather contain the wedding speeches prior to meal, so they can enjoy their meal (a lot of them are spending money for it!). However, it is all about the invited guests and the way many (and even the wedding ceremony venue staff) would rather the wedding ceremony speeches to get delivered following the meal for most reasons, some of which include:
The invited guests are already fed and watered and are not listening to wedding speeches before eating any breakfast (at least of food, which would be so before the meal, though weddings today do provide light snacks upon arrival with the wedding venue)
Food could be cooked and served at the agreed time (introduce wedding ceremony speeches prior to meal and their might be a delay of Fifteen minutes one.5 hours, driving living rooms staff crazy continuing to keep food freshly cooked, presentable and edible)
Wedding ceremony speeches work as the transition from your meal for the dancing (without a penny happening after the meal, people are expecting ‘a few words’ to get shared in regards to the Bride & Groom after which it they do know they are able to stand up, move about, take a rest, take a stroll, navigate to the bar…)
It’s a challenge for fogeys with the Bride & Groom to communicate in public areas, as the majority of them wouldn’t be used from it. So, they could, should they so wished, speak ahead of the / their meal.
There should be some type of formal wedding speech(es) after the meal…
