How weddings have changed over the decades! From a handful to 400-500 invited guests; one-two to six-eight marriage ceremony members; a simple wedding car to expensive and enormous wedding cars; three course meals in order to six course meals; one-three live bands; simple attire to colorful and flamboyant dresses, suits and attire and off-the-cuff to well-prepared wedding speeches.

While we’re talking about the second, wedding speeches remain a fundamental part of a marriage and guests do enjoy hearing them, talking about them before, during as well as after they’ve been delivered.

We have all heard of wedding speeches delivered prior to meal, through the meal and after your food, however it is of the strong opinion the groom speech ought to be delivered after the meal. I am aware that for many wedding ceremony speakers i.e. Father of the Bride Speech, Father with the Groom Speech, Bride Speech, Groom Speech and Bestman Speech (5 main speakers), they would prefer to possess the wedding speeches ahead of the meal, to enable them to enjoy their meal (many of them are spending money for it!). However, it’s all about the invited guests and the way many (and indeed the wedding ceremony venue staff) would prefer the wedding ceremony speeches to be delivered following your meal for several reasons, most of which include:

The invited guests have been fed and watered and aren’t listening to wedding speeches on an empty stomach (at least of food, which could be the case prior to the meal, though weddings today do provide light snacks upon arrival on the wedding venue)
Food might be cooked and served at the agreed time (introduce the marriage speeches prior to meal in addition to their can be quite a delay of A quarter-hour to a single.5 hours, driving living rooms staff crazy trying to keep food freshly cooked, presentable and edible)
Wedding ceremony speeches become the transition through the meal for the dancing (without a penny happening following your meal, people are expecting ‘a few words’ being shared about the Bride & Groom then they are fully aware they can stand up, maneuver around, take a break, take a stroll, see a bar…)
It’s a challenge for fogeys of the Bride & Groom to talk in public areas, as the majority of them would not be used of computer. So, they could, should they so wished, speak before the / their meal.

There should be some type of formal wedding speech(es) after the meal…
