How weddings have changed in the decades! Coming from a handful to 400-500 invited guests; one-two to six-eight wedding party members; a straightforward wedding car to expensive and big wedding cars; three course meals to six course meals; 1-3 live bands; simple attire to colorful and flamboyant dresses, suits and attire and off-the-cuff to well-prepared wedding speeches.

These are the latter, wedding speeches are nevertheless a fundamental part of being married and guests do look ahead to hearing them, speaking about them before, during and indeed after they’ve been delivered.

We are all aware of wedding speeches delivered ahead of the meal, during the meal after your food, however it is of an strong opinion that the wedding speeches must be delivered after the meal. I realize that for most marriage ceremony speakers i.e. Father of the Bride Speech, Father from the groom speech (5 main speakers), they would would rather hold the wedding speeches ahead of the meal, to allow them to enjoy their meal (a lot of them are paying for it!). However, it is all about the invited guests and just how most of them (and indeed the wedding venue staff) would rather the wedding speeches to become delivered after the meal for a lot of reasons, many of which include:

The invited guests have been fed and watered and aren’t playing wedding speeches before eating any breakfast (at least of food, which would be the case prior to the meal, though weddings today do provide light snacks upon arrival with the wedding venue)
Food may be cooked and served in the agreed time (introduce the wedding speeches prior to meal as well as their might be a delay of Fifteen minutes to at least one.5 hours, driving your kitchen staff crazy trying to keep food freshly cooked, presentable and edible)
The marriage speeches behave as the transition from your meal for the dancing (with nothing happening after the meal, people are expecting ‘a few words’ being shared concerning the Bride & Groom after which they know they are able to get up, maneuver around, have a break, go for a walk, go to the bar…)
It’s a challenge for fogeys of the Bride & Groom to speak in public places, as the majority of them wouldn’t be used than it. So, they might, if they so wished, speak ahead of the / their meal.

There should be some kind of formal speech(es) following your meal…
